Mossy Falls
Down beneath the bows, a lovely subject I found. Raging water sloshing along the rocky banks, whispering softly ‘Come closer, there’s so much more’. Lingering eagerly by the shore, waiting for the urge to slow, I stepped gently out into the rapid stream, careful yet, steady on my feet. Long I’ve lived in this wild place, I knew better than to trust these whispering snakes, those Mossy Falls icy down beneath.
It’s been a while since I returned to this little waterfall, even in the heat of the summer, those waters never get much above 50 degrees F, the rocks slick, the current faster than you may imagine, and the pool just bellow my feet was quite deep. I’ve been exploring nice little cozy spots along the roadside of Newfound Gap Rd, and enjoying the many water features. Not all as picturesque as this, nor as easy to find perhaps. I wish I knew the name of this little waterfall, but perhaps it’s mroe interesting for its mystery.
The edit here was quite simple, control the colors, the photo was quite green, and it simply didn’t fit the mood. So, reduce some of that color, shift it more yellow, add a little dodge and burn to compensate for the loss of contrast, and illuminate the center while dropping the highlights in the background. Let the waterfall do what it does best, be the star of the show.
Until Next Time!
